Business crisis and Restructuring

04 — Areas of expertise

When you act matters more than which instrument you choose.

Business difficulty appears long before it becomes visible to banks and suppliers. The signals are there — recurring cash tension, lengthening collection times, margins thinning without an evident reason — but they are read as isolated episodes.

Those who address the problem while they still have alternatives end up in a different position from those who address it once the alternatives are gone. That is the most significant difference I have observed, more than any subsequent technical choice.

Where I work

  • Early identification of distress signals and assessment of their seriousness
  • Analysis of debt sustainability and going concern
  • Building restructuring plans and testing whether they hold
  • Turnaround procedures
  • Access to crisis and insolvency regulation instruments under Italian law
  • Relationships with creditors and with banks

How I work

In these situations the first thing needed is a truthful picture, even when it is unpleasant. Building it together with the entrepreneur is half the work; the other half is establishing what can still be done, and within what time.
