Tax and Corporate

01 — Areas of expertise

The rule is where the analysis ends, not where it starts.

Useful tax advice does not begin with the applicable provision, but with the question the entrepreneur has in mind — a question often not yet framed in technical terms: does this make sense? what will it mean three years from now? what happens if things do not go as expected?

My work consists in turning that question into a defined problem, and then solving it.

Where I work

  • Corporate taxation and compliance, with attention to non-standard cases
  • Choice and review of corporate structures
  • Extraordinary operations: contributions, transfers, mergers, demergers
  • Shareholder relationships and generational transitions, in their tax and corporate implications
  • Interpretation of provisions of uncertain application, based on administrative practice and case law

How I work

Before proposing a solution I want to understand the operation as a whole: who the parties are, what constraints exist, what is negotiable and what is not. An answer that is technically correct but cannot be applied to the case at hand is of no use to anyone.
